I'm not a vegan, but I have started to make an effort to cut out dairy products and eggs.

Well, I was with my mom at the grocery store and I was telling her about milk and how there were alternatives and all that jazz, and we got some Silk vanilla soy milk! I was so excited when she actually bought it for me XDD Anyways, when we got home I tried some and I actually like it, and my mom tried some and she said she liked it better than regular milk!

One small step for man...

Yeah...she also bought me two cans of chick peas when she was out shopping earlier. I'm so excited that she's actually accepting this! And supporting it too! I'm so happy right now =D

Omg...I do! I can't stop grinning! It's so silly to be this happy over soy milk but...it feels like Christmas morning or something XD

I'll have to try the chocolate stuff! I'd love to see my sister's face if she tried it and then realized what it was.

That's great! My mom supports me, but she makes me mad sometimes when she doesn't invite me to the grocery store. XD And she gets mad when I take too long, hehe. It's worth it though. I wish we had like, a health store though.. *in the middle of nowherez*

I told my mom about the chickpea sandwich and she was like eww. So, I don't know about that. We pretty much like the same foods. xD

Mmm, I just tried some vanilla soymilk, really good.

Rice milk is still my favorite, though. I could drink it plain straight from the carton.

Then again, I haven't tried almond or hazelnut milk yet. I saw some hazelnut milk earlier in the store and I was so tempted to get some, but I figured I'd wait until another time. (But I did get some flax seeds, which were on sale.)

Chickpea sandwiches are sooooo good, I eat them all the time, you really have to try it. They don't taste like tuna, at least not to me. Of course, I never really ate tuna when I was omni, so maybe I just don't remember what it tastes like. Still, it's delish.

I like the Silk vanilla, too. It's too strong a taste to put in cereal, so I buy plain for that. I don't like plain milk (cow or soy) very much, except to put in cereal, where the cereal taste overpowers the milk.

About the chocolate Silk, I think the flavor's a little too strong. I still buy it regularly, but I water it down with a little of the plain before drinking it.

With a chickpea sandwhich, once you add in the vegenaise (or mayo, whatever you prefer) along with a little salt and chopped onions/celery and whatever else you like to put in a tuna sandwhich, it really does resemble tuna salad.

You just have to take the time to smush all the chickpeas with a fork when you're mixing everything together. I also like to add the tiniest bit of horseradish to give it a kick.
