I tried it. I was thinking about thinking about (lol) being vegan. And I just can't live w/ out milk, so I tried Silk soy milk.

I guess it's an aquired taste, because I can't stand it. The color I could get used to, but it's tastes so awful to me.

Maybe you guys know of a better brand? Or maybe vanilla soy milk tastes better? or maybe it's just not for me... ^^"""

You don't like soymilk?!?!?!?!!?!?!?! I honestly don't get it, lol. My mom and I used to drink soymilk loooooong before I even thought about becoming vegan. The reason? It tastes so darn good! I personally don't like Silk soymilk either, and I dont know why...We usually buy the Kirkland brand (generic brand of Costco) and it is AMAZING! We also started out with vanilla, and she personally prefers it over plain...I love both equally! Another brand thats really yummy is WestSoy...yummm.... So, for some reason Silk brand doesnt taste at all like the others.

As many of you know, I used to be a milk-aholic, but soymilk is just that much yummier.WE also tried rice milk, which is good I suppose, but in the end I didn't finish the carton because it tastes waayyyyy too much like cow's milk for my liking. So if you like the taste of cows milk, try rice milk. I think it is so much fun to experiment with differet flavors and brands (They even have oat milk and hazelnut milk! And Holly-Nog!)

I like soymilk, but I don't really understand the whole vegan thing, so long as it's a symbiotic relationship with the animals, rather than a master/slave relationship, I see no problem with having milk if the animals are well treated..

It'd be best though if I had my own cow, or goat. :-\\

I love chocolate soymilk to drink, as long as it's Alpro.

But I hated plain and vanilla flavours of soymilk when I first tried it. I preferred rice milk. I have soy milk on my cereal, etc, now, but I could never drink plain soymilk straight

I'm not a huge fan of soy milk, but as someone already said, rice milk is amazing. I think it's quite a bit sweeter. I'm not sure how close it is to "real" milk because there was about a 6-7 year gap between the last time I drank milk and the first time I tried rice milk, but I like it.

If you can't live w/out milk, then try other varieties. Vanilla Silk soymilk is delicious, imo. It has a fuller flavor than plain, I think. I've never had chocolate, but you could try it too.

EDIT: never mind the above, I hadn't the second page. good luck!

While other alternative milks can be good, I always drink soy instead because it provides the essential amino acids and is probably the most nutritious. Furthermore, has anyone heard of Dr. Mercola. He actually tried to "bash" it (sort of) by telling about the process used to make it. First off, I checked into it and the process sounded a little made up (like that soybeans are soaked in an alkaline solution, no it's water ****face!!). Furthermore, his information is usually based on consumer and "scientific studies", yeah, the ones that are inadequate and done for a brief time. Furthermore, he drinks milk and eats meat. Even more, one site showed an excellent quote example of how conflicting he is with his own interest. I think the guy is nuts. Furthermore, he's done work with Kevin Truduea (I have his first book, the updated one), and Kevin has many controversial issues revolving around him too, yet he continues to make the most headway in infomercials and continues to gather followers. Some of his points are common knowledge regarding health, some make sense yet I still can't confirm, and some are just downright wrong (he says cholesterol is okay, that it doesn't matter how much you have, only if your arteries are scarred, causing them to grab onto cholesterol). check out this link to view the Mercola's article about soy milk:

http://www.mercola.com/2006/dec/14/s...-unhealthy.htm

It was complete bull****! Pardon the language. Also, check out the next link that speaks against Mercola himself, and his conflicting statements.

http://www.soya.be/mercola.php

They don't have Alpro, the poor fools

I actually don't overly like the taste of soy milk by itself, but I love it in tea, coffee, cereal, milkshakes, cooking, etc. Have you tried it in anything else?
