Hello everyone!

I'm going to be giving birth very soon (sometime between now, and mid november, he may be a preemie), and I'd love to start out my life as a new, breastfeeding mommy, as a vegetarian. I've been vegetarian (and vegan) previously, but I've had very little support from those around me to stick with it.

I'm an animal lover, I'm looking forward to going back to school soon to become a vet tech, and I'm here just to read up on what people have to say, get some ideas on how to get more support with my choices, and to be sure that my decisions are going to be healthy ones for my son. I know that there have to be more moms out there that breastfed while cutting meat and/or dairy out of their diets...so I'm here to find you!

There's more to me, and to why I'd love to get my eating habits back on track, but that would require more here than people are likely willing to read. So, bye for now!

Hi!

I just joined the forum a couple of days ago, and I too am about to be a new mom! Well, I was supposed to be by 2 days ago - sigh - still waiting.

Nice to find another with likely similar concerns to mine!

What makes you think he'll be early? I thought that mine was going to be early also. As early as 33 weeks. So much for that!

I have preeclampsia, which I'm trying to take care of with rest and whatnot, but I've been given shots to help his lungs out and all that good stuff. My blood pressure is high, protein in the urine, constant headaches and edema. My ob/gyn expects to induce me around 35 weeks, though hopefully I can let my boy cook a little longer than that!

Congratulations! Here's hoping you deliver soon...I've heard going over your due date can be frustrating.

welcome to VB!!

I have a cousin that has a son with problems with hypospaidas due to abundunce of soy products. She was told that there was a relationship of soy products and hypospaidas. I thought I would pass this along since you are going to be a new mommy. Maybe you can prevent having this problem with your son. I just want you to be aware of this so that you can educate yourself. Take care and congrats!!!
