Maybe it's a language barriers? (English is my first language) I just don't get legumes. Even Wikipedia let me down. Are they beans? Do baked beans count? Kidney beans? What about grains? What are some examples?

Also, what are lentils?

Great Scott I feel dumb for not knowing this...

Legumes are plants which have bacteria on their roots which can convert nitrogen in the soil to a form which we can ingest, as well as containing essential amino acids we need to survive.

Some examples: Peanuts, alfalfa sprouts, peanuts, beans.

Lentils are a type of pulse. They are super nutritious. I soak them overnight, then boil them, then make lentil burgers. :)

Hope that helped!

Okay makes a bit more sense now. Still slightly worried about getting enough protein. :/

Lentils don't need to be soaked. I've heard it can help with digestion, though, which is probably why you do it, pugwrinkles. But just for those who are new to these things, lentils are one legume that don't require presoaking.

I wouldn't worry about protein, most meat eaters are getting TOO MUCH protein to begin with. You don't only get protein from legumes.
Beans, nuts, and vegetables are also good sources. You can also make protein shakes with protein powder if you want to supplement your diet even further.
