I've written probably a good five or more theads on Soilman in the three years that I've known him online. He interests me more than anything else I've met online I bet!

He's a bit weird, yes. But I love his intellectual style. This comment reguarding Michael Jackson proves his brilliance in my eyes.

Quote:

It would have been nice if, instead of jealosy protecting his privacy, he used his situation to help educate people as to the dangers of plastic surgery, and why surgery is best reserved for situations where it is truly necessary, because there is always a risk, no matter how safe surgeons claim it is.

If everyone were to be like Soilman, the world would be an interesting place alright, but I think altogether much more enjoyable to all living things.

The way in which I think now has been greatly influenced by Soilman, and for that, I thank him.

Thanks Soilman!

But please, no more quadruple posting!

i often discuss soilman with my husband. we are both big fans. i directed my vegetarian inlaws to his website, as they grow much of their own organic food (but not veganic). i was hoping they would learn something.

I agree. Although he's been accused of rambling his posts are always well thought out. And even though you may disagree with some of his ideas I think the logic behind them is hard to argue with. He's definitely a strong asset to this community. I rank him right up there with Kreeli. I'll bet Kreeli is flattered.

I still have Soilman's Marumm-style Phallus poem, and consider it one of the greatest poetic accomplishments of the past century.

"I have been vegan for 30 years, and my phallus astounds all who behold it.

It becomes long, wide, and rigid in a flash,

like the romaine lettuce in my garden does

when evening turns to night swiftly.

And all night long it pulses,

like a lighthouse beacon that,

towering and strong, guides

ships rising and falling on ocean waves, to

the floating dock where they may be secured

throughout the night and throughout the day

that follows. Once to this turgid giant they are lured.

Soilman- very consistent. I like that. What saddens me is that he is so objective and removed in his analysis and often finds very little things to critique, that often newcomers interpret this as rudeness, that he likes to tear people down. That is not it at all.

VP,

I find that to be so with me, too, sometimes. Sometimes I just don't want to exert the mental effort it takes to really understand what soilman's saying, so I just don't bother. It's rewarding when I do actually read and ponder what he says.

Awww... Soilman! What a charmer! Great find, Avalon! Had I had a drink in my mouth while reading that, it surely would have found itself on my moniter. Oh man!

I agree. I don't skim over them at all. I always learn something from Soil's posts; something really useful. It makes me feel not so guilty about the amount of time I spend on the board. Please don't change a thing. FYI..one of the reason I signed up as a member here was to gain more information from knowledgable, intelligent people. Soilman's been an indispensable resource.

Thanks Soilman
