A while ago, my parents came up to visit me in my apartment. They offered to do some shopping, since they had a car and I usually don't, so gratefully accepted and I sent them out with a shopping list of mine. One of the items was nutritional yeast (I like it on pasta sometimes), but the store was almost out of it. They picked up some nutritional yeast, and also some soy protein powder, which wasn't on my list. Now I have two questions:

1) It's been in my refrigerator for about a month and a half at this point. How long does it last?

and

2) If it's still probably good, what do I do with it?

Are there directions on the can? I have chocolate soy protein powder that I mix with almond milk. I drink it. It's a shake. You could use soy milk or rice milk. Some powders can be mixed with juice. There should be some kind of direction on the packaging.

Then I guess you could try a 2-3 tablespoons in some kind of milk (soy, almond, rice, etc., unless you are not vegan, then you could use regular milk) You will just have to play around with it until you find a way to mix it that appeals to you I guess.

I add it in blended smoothies or sometimes in soft foods like pudding. Brown rice pudding with a dash of vanilla, stevia, and soy protein powder makes for a nutritious and yummy snack.

I just bought a can, it says:

Blueberry Blast Shake

1 C Blueberries

4Tbsp protien powder

1/4 C low fat milk (substitute non dairy if you wish)

3/4 C plain or vanilla low fat yogurt (or soy yogurt)

3/4 t vanilla extract

Blend in blender until frothy.

It also says

Blend 3 heaping tablespoons protien powder w/ C of milk, or add to your favorite juice. Add fruit and ice as a special treat. for an extra boost, try adding to cereals and salads or when cooking and baking.

Hope that helps.
