Ca RI be an.<br><br>
It seems like everyone else says it the other way. I looked it up and though and both are correct.<br><br>

cuh-rib-ee-un.<br><br><br><br>
I'd much rather go there than pronounce the name properly, of course.

I say "Ca RI be an" when refering to the Carribean like "Boy I'd like to go to the "Ca RI be an"<br><br><br><br>
But for whatever reason I say "Cari BE an" when refering to the movie and whatnot "Pirates of the Cari BE an"

On the island I'm moving to next month (St. Kitts), the natives say Ca RIB be an for both the people and the land.<br><br><br><br>
How did Billy Ocean say it his song from 80s, "Caribbean Queen"? I can't remember.

lol he said "Kara-bean." Bean, as in green bean. There was no middle syllable. Kara bean queen. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/laugh.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=""><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br>
I say ca-RIB-bee-in except for when I say "Pirates of the Care-a-bee-in."

I say caruh-BE-un. I've always hated the other way. My way sounds more lyrical and pleasant... just like the name of that part of the world should sound!

I can see it now... a VB version called "Carob Bean Queen"<br><br>
...except, according to Wikipedia, it's part of the legume family. But we won't let that stop us, now will we? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/cool3.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="">
