"Snickerdoodles" is such a horrible name for a food item. So off-putting! Almost as bad as "spotted dick". I'd rather a giggling, uh, you-know-what than a spotted, diseased looking one though.

(No offense to your recipe, just the name, which you didn't invent)

Huh. I think it's an American/British/Aussie language thing perhaps. Snickerdoodles to me, only make me think of someone laughing (or "snickering"). When I was little, we though it was because the cookies often have the look of a scrunched up face. Is doodle a reference to um, boy parts, in particular?

Mandy, when I've made them (it's been a looong time now), I think there were about 18 cookies. I think the original recipe said 24-30, so I suppose it depends on what size cookie you like.

Heh, yes. So it sounds a little like they are called "giggling penises" to me, which is a rather interesting cookie name, you must admit.

I am soooo going to start calling them that now.

I can hear it now, conversation with my sister, on the phone...

"Hey, watcha doing?"

"Ah, just getting ready to eat a couple of giggling penises".

That is so weird.

As for the cookies, I'm going to try these soon. Snickerdoodles was my most favoritest cookie as a child (and I didn't/don't usually have favorites, ever). The thought of these makes me
