what do you guys think of this. I mean I usually am sitting throughout most of the day. For example school and studying or watching TV and chatting so this really worries me!!

Here is the site I found.

http://www.crazynews.net/dp/1-108.htm

The study centers on a guy who sits for 18 hours a day. I doubt you are sitting that long. And plus, you are probably laying down at least 8 hours a day (to sleep). But to be safe, get up and walk around when you get home from school. Its better for you anyway!

Yes - you have to take breaks (not only for circulation - but also for sanity)

One thing I've found from long computer work is eye strain. I now have a LCD type monitor that seems much easier on my eyes.

Yeah I've read that sitting too long could lead to blood clots. Maybe as computers become more portable (ie, like a tablet PC), people won't be as stationary when using them

Yeah I got an LCD and sold my 19" CRT a while back. It's much better on the eyes (eyes have been great since I got it ... about a year and a half). I am thinking of getting a CRT (tube) again and just using that for graphics where colour is more important.

I'm banned from sitting down at the computer. My bad posture had led to squashed discs and a bad back. Like I'm obeying that order...
