I don't know how new this is, but I saw a new fruit smoothie drink at Wal-Mart the other day and I can't recall exactly what is in it but it had some form of animal product. I was horrified, it was something that was I believe only animal derived according to my pocket app that has all the animal ingredients listed as well as where they come from. It was rather strange to me seeing as I had assumed most Silk products would be veggie friendly, apparently I was wrong. o3o

I've noticed this at all the grocery stores now. I checked the ingredients and I'm confused by what you're finding that isn't vegan?

The Calcium Lactate? It comes from Lactic Acid. I have a pocket animal ingredient list, it states that it is always animal derived.

Bacteria can make it, so is this list really correct?
Perhaps they consider bacteria an animal? Hard to say, I go by it though unless I check it out myself. That is my right after all, just figured I would let people on here know. >.>

I bought it, and I like it. It's a fun way to get some protein and calcium in along with some vitamin C. It's vegan enough for me. I choose not to worry over ingredients that could go either way, but I thought I had read somewhere that lactic acid in a food is usually vegan...?

I saw these a couple weeks ago! I first saw the large carton of Strawberry Banana, and I didn't waste any time throwing it in the cart after I first laid eyes on it. A couple days later I saw the little cartons of Strawberry Banana, Peach Mango, and another one, and I picked up the Peach Mango one. They are really, really good. If I wanted I could drink an entire large carton a day. A lot of Silk products I think taste weird but these are awesome. Everything Silk sells is vegan so they're one of the few companies I don't worry about reading the ingredients of all the time (though through my vegan conditioning sometimes I do it anyway )

Sorry to be a debbie downer, but I don't see the thrill in this. Just make your own smoothie

That is what I do.However, it would be nice to have the option of being able to buy them from time to time.
