I went to the city today and of course the Taste of Chicago was there, I wasn't sure if I was going to eat anything but when I saw the sign -Pure Vegetarian, Vegan and Raw - so I bought some tickets and tried their samplers

I had:
Samosa - (Vegan)
(Crisp fried patty stuffed with potato)

and

Bhel (Vegan) - A mixture of puffed rice (similar to rice krispies), sev (crunchy chickpea noodles) and bits of puri (whole wheat chips). Along with these items is diced potatoes, onions, cilantro and three chutneys (garlic, hot, sweet). Served cold.

Both were so good- The Bhel was a bit spicy (okay a lot but it was that good spicy)

Here's their website http://www.aryabhavan.com

It's a ways from my house but I love it so if ever in the city I am going back for more, I am also excited because it was something I probably wouldn't have tried- stepping out!

Ooh thanks, I'd seen Arya Bhavan, but not the other place. We may do the Taste on Friday. Loving Hut has a booth there too (somewhere) if you go back.
