Hey all,

I recently went to the doctor for a pain I was having in what I thought was my chest. Long story short, it was just a muscle problem in my shoulder from poor posture. There is a knot (it feels "crunchy") in the area right where the pain is most intense on the inside (left side) of my right shoulder blade. Is there some sort of specialist I could go to get this worked out? Would a masseuse visit be beneficial for this?

Thanks a bunch!

Did your doctor look for myofascial pain syndrome? In this syndrome there is a short circuit between muscle and nerves. A part of the muscle is tight, presses the nerve (pain), and the nerve via reflex triggers the muscle to be tight. In this case an injection of a local anaesthesic into the trigger point work wonders.

Thanks a bunch, Lothar. I will be making a doctor's appointment, and hopefully this will get resolved this time around. I will bring this up to him
