The following mail was recieved by me :

***SHAC Action Alert Asahi Glass***

Nick told a story about Brian Crane one night when we were bleeding pigs. He said there was a dog in a study who was very sensitive and cried whenever anyone touched her. Nick said Brian would hum a song and then yank on the dogs ears so she would emit screams on cue to harmonize with what he was humming. He said that it was so funny everyone present was laughing.

From the Diaries of Michelle Rokke, undercover investigator at HLS

Who are Asahi Glass?

Asahi Glass Co Ltd is a Japanese multinational company, which for the most part makes various glass products. However, it also has a division devoted to chemicals and plastics derived from the chemical fluorine. Among the derivatives is a class of chemicals known as hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs).

Despite claims to the contrary, there is incontrovertible proof of published studies showing that a consortium of scientists from various companies, including Colin J Hardy of Huntingdon Life Sciences and Siji Shin-Ya of Asahi Glass, took part in testing HCFCs at HLS.

Dogs and rats were subjected to inhalation toxicology experiments among others. Six month old beagles were bound into canvas sling harnesses to restrict their movements, masks put over their faces and forced to inhale the HCFCs. Some died almost immediately in spasms. Others took days to die, their internal organs slowly being poisoned, limbs twitching for up to four weeks. They struggled against their slow poisoning but to little avail. Any that survived where killed for dissection.

Asahi Glass have at long last been exposed for their part in paying for animal torture at HLS. Their name is now publicly associated with animal abuse and it is time they were made aware of the fact that once exposed there is no going back. They have already started to feel the anger of the animal rights movement, as demonstrations commence against their various sites.

Now it is your turn to make sure they continue getting the message that all the police and security in the world are not going to be able to protect them from our anger; that the world will know all their dirty secrets.

Below are the details of two of Asahi Glasss UK subsidiaries, F2 Chemicals and AG Fluoropolymers. Both deal with fluorine and F2 is implicated in the production of the HCFCs. At the moment they are trying to deny their connection, so it is time we woke them up to reality that there is no hiding from us, and that we will not go away until they do the right thing. Asahi Glass need to send in that signed statement swearing that they will cease all contact with Huntingdon Life Sciences and never use them again.

It is a very simple thing for them to do. A fellow company in Japan, Arakawa Chemical Industries, was able to do it. Other pharmaceuticals have managed it. And they can all tell Asahi Glass, that it is the only way to get us off their back and stop having their named dragged through the dirt. Junior managers can say all they like, but only when their bosses in Japan agree to our demands will they have peace again.

So get phoning, faxing, emailing and writing now. Dont just do it today, make a point of contacting them at least once a day for the next week. Show them what it really means to be a target of the AR movement. Keep hammering home the message to drop HLS immediately. Let the staff know just what sort of company HLS is and tell them to get onto their bosses in Japan immediately.

Is it really necessary to post every email address and phone number to every employee of the company? While I may not agree with some of the stuff these companies do, I have to wonder if I would appreciate having my email address and phone passed around as it if were spam. And I can tell you I wouldn't.

Point is.. I think a single fax number, phone number and email address for the company should be sufficient.
