I took a fav chinese recipe, removed the chicken and added seitan, with a few changes in preparation it turned out fantastic


Sesame Seitan

16 oz seitan

1/2 cup soy sauce

1/2 cup real maple syrup

1/2 cup dry sherry

1 ½ teaspoon ginger (or more to taste-spicy)

3 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder (Frontier Herbs)

1/4 cup sesame seeds

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 tablespoon peanut oil

1 head broccoli, chopped and steamed

Directions

1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees Cut seitan into about 1 inch long 1/2 in wide pieces.

2: In a large nonporous glass dish or bowl, combine the soy sauce, maple syrup, sherry, ginger and five spice powder. Add seitan pieces and toss to coat. Cover dish and refrigerate for 20 minutes, stirring once or twice, to marinate. After 20 minutes, drain seitan, reserving marinade.

3: in a small saucepan simmer marinade, take out ¼ cup and mix with cornstarch thoroughly, add back to rest of marinade and simmer until slightly thickened stirring constantly

4: Meanwhile, spread sesame seeds out evenly on an aluminum foil-lined cookie sheet. Bake in the preheated oven, to toast, for 10 minutes or until slightly browned.

5: Heat oil in a medium skillet/wok over medium high heat. Brown seitan pieces in oil for about 1 minute each side. Remove seitan pieces from heat and roll in toasted sesame seeds.

6: Add broccoli to wok and pour boiled marinade over it. Reduce heat and saute until coated and tender. Add back seitan, serve over rice.
