Different people follow different forms of vegetarianism. A true vegetarian eats no meat at all, including chicken and fish. A lacto-ovo vegetarian eats dairy products and eggs, but excludes meat, fish, and poultry. It follows, then, that a lacto vegetarian eats dairy products but not eggs, whereas an ovo vegetarian eats eggs but not dairy products.

A stricter form of vegetarianism is veganism. Not only are eggs and dairy products excluded from a vegan diet, so are animal products like honey and gelatin.

Decent job defining them but what's this thread for? Are we to discuss semi-veg diets and is it in the vegan forum because veganism was defined? No offense meant at all, just wondering what the topic of discussion is.

I'm just gonna continue with the discussion I THOUGHT this was gonna be. I know a lot of people that maintain semi-veggie diets. They'll eat fish or even meat, but maybe once a month, and most don't eat dairy or eggs unless given them. Indeed, they even claim to care about animal rights, but they can never stick to the diet for whatever reason.

Personally, I think they could if they tried harder, and that it's their own weakness, but I do think that at least they're doing a little good by their limited abstainance. They do, however, encourage the idea that you NEED meat now and then to have a balanced diet.

I'd like to add that gelatin isn't even vegetarian, seeing that it's a slaughter by-product. Eating hooves or skins is no more veg than eating muscle.

There's sky. Sometimes it's blue. Sometime it's a dark sky. Sometimes it's not. Sometimes raindrops fall from the sky. Sky is above ground.

He only has 3 posts. He may be a person who popped in to post a message he wanted to get off his chest and get people talking.

AFAIK, a semi-vegan diet helps animals and the environment and is a worthwhile occurrence for people who will never go further, but a semi-vegan diet is always going to be a "semi-ethical" diet.

The way this threads looks, I wondered whether the OP is a bot of some kind, posting random text from somewhere. I'm not saying this to accuse him/her of trolling or to evaluate any other posts he/she has made, just that it seems like such a random block of text to me.

It seems like entities like that need to post some barely relevant posts to the topic of the board so that they don't get banned, and so that they can therefore post some spam more easily.

But think about what could happen in the future: corporations could program highly intelligent AI's to perform that task, and you could no longer be able to distinguish whose review for Transformers XIII is a spam ad by an AI, and whose a genuine review by a real person!

I think the people from that time period would be even scarier when you think about it. Assuming bots are indistinguishable from real people, you'll have to imagine a world where someone links to bootleg designer clothing whenever they try to argue a point(online AND in the middle of a face-to-face conversation), and it is seen as completely normal.
