I have been monitoring my nutrional intake for awhile and have noticed a lack in two minerals.

Selenium and Zinc.

Over the last couple of weeks I am getting only 60% of my RDA.

What vegan foods will help me raise these levels?

thanks

Zinc: wholegrains, nuts and seeds.

Selenium is tricky, because contents may vary a lot: coconuts and brazil nuts are said to be rich.

If you are having trouble with zinc and selenium try a multivitamin. They have vegan friendly ones at a lot of health food stores. If you don't want to take vitamins because you want to obtain these minerals naturally there are many foods to try.

For zinc:

Wheatgerm, whole grains (whole wheat bread, rice, oats), nuts, pulses, tofu, soy protein, miso, peas, parsley, and bean sprouts (alfalfa).

For Selenium:

Brazil nuts and grains

Good Luck!
