yeah, so the title explains it. every night..between 9 or 11 i ALWAYS end up binging. it's every night. people say, just go to bed early, take a shower, occupy yourself but nothing has worked. and it's not that i haven't tried, i've tried so hard to overcome this. it's just an ugly, horrible habit. i've come to the boards before for advice but i don't think i've ever stressed HOW hard i've already tried and how it's becoming a problem. i've gained 15 pounds from this.

here's tonights example. i came home from the movies at 10, was planning on finishing homework and going straight to bed. i wasn't hungry or anything but i walked by the kitchen and ate : sun chips, 2 pickles, 2 "chicken" nuggets, and a spoonful of peanut butter. i'm not full right now but i wasn't hungry when i ate it, and that's a lot of extra calories for so late at night. i call them binges because i feel so UNCONTROLABLE, it's awful. and now i haven't even done my homework and i'm stressed about this =[ i could have been asleep right now.

does anyone else have a similar problem? i need support as well as advice.

I have this exact same problem. I know the feeling all to well.

I also understand why you call them binges even though it's not a ton of food.

I have felt that uncontrollable feeling. It angers me.

I wish I could have a lock on every cupboard in my kitchen and the fridge that would automatically lock at 9:00 pm every night.

I haven't found a solution yet, although sometimes brushing my teeth and going to bed really early can help.

i know! i don't think it helps that i live with 4 people (2 of them being little brothers) and we always have SO MUCH FOOD in the house.

yeah, sometimes i brush my teeth after dinner and put my retainers in, i wear them at night, buuut i always find a way to fit these stinkin' binges in. and i'm usually up late doing homework or something, (i have no study halls this semester so i'm always really busy) and the fact that i have to be up late makes me more prone to this night eating.

argh we need to find a solution to regain control.

Wow I just typed out a really long response w/ a website and it got deleted because I can't post website addresses yet. Anyways, I share many of your symptoms, and I am currently in talks of talking to someone. It's an emotional issue.

I think you have disordered eating (like me). I can't post the website but if you go to google, and type in "eating disorders" (don't worry you don't have an eating disorder) and click on "national eating disorders association neda" (it should be the first listing). Ok so once on the website on the top menu click "Eating Disorders Info", and then scroll down and click "Sharing with EEEase." This really helped me.

Good Luck Hun!!

thank you<3.

tonight's binge: a roll dipped in tomato sauce, 5 "chicken" nuggets, lots of pringles

i don't even gain from these anymore. my weight's stabalized at 120, which makes me feel like the binges are okay. but they clearly are not.

ketivnilloc..i think you're SORT OF right. i'm eating enough food, calorie-wise, but not satisfying healthy food. i eat too many carbs, throught the day-not only in my binges.

today i've done better so far

breakfast-granola bar, apple

lunch-brown rice, veggie burger on whole grain bread with ketchup

that's healthier than usual, believe it or not! i'm going to try to incorporate more raw fruits&veggies into my diet.

I binge like that too, but it almost always makes me wake up at 2 in the morning and puke for the rest of the night, so that's a pretty good deterrent. I'm not sure what to tell you, except that you seem to be on the right track by eating better the rest of the day.
