Second Hand Animals?

What are your opinions on buying leather, wool, silk, and the like secondhand? Is it better, worse, good, bad? I'm looking for any and all perspectives. Thank you! :)

I think buying second hand is not as bad as first hand but I'm not sure why you would do it when you just buy something synthetic.

For someone like me at least, the amount of plastic bags and straws and plastic bottles and plastic packaging seems to be on a larger scale than clothin so I am more concerned about that.
