Hi,

I am writing a paper that is looking at the relationship between humans and animals, especially in the context of animal slavery, through the framework of Rene Girard's mimetic desire and scapegoat analysis. I want to tie together animal sacrifice in ancient times (which was done for propitiation and salvation for humans) with animal vivisection today which, though done in the same of science, seems to be to be a sort of secular religion in which animals are continually sacrificed to provide the drugs that will cure humanity's every ill, disease and complaint (a type of physical salvation). I was wondering if anyone could point me towards some good, scholarly articles on the fallacies of vivisection, or just any scholarly anti-vivisection articles in general. Thanks.
