Driving to the mall today in heavy traffic,I saw something I've never seen

before. There's a small area by the road that leads to a place with a few

trees;it's really just a little patch of sandy looking dirt. There, in this

little patch of dirt, was a cat's head!It was sitting upright and perfectly intact.

I couldn't slow down because of the traffic, so I circled back around to try

to get a better look. There was no body to be seen, just the head sitting

there.

I'm not sure who to call at this point.Should I contact Animal Control or the SPCA?

I wish a lot worse on a person who would sever a cat's head than herpes.

how about a hilarious and painful bowhunting accident?

Thanks. I'll call all three tomorrow.

It was pretty awful. I'm having a hard time getting the image out of

my head, and trying not to think of what happened to that poor little cat.

I'll let you know what happens.

You're right. I love everything about fall with the exception of this

particular time. We always keep our cats indoors the week before and

the week after Halloween.

Update on the poor cat situation: I drove by the site just a few minutes

ago. The traffic was light so I was able to stop to get a good look.

The head was gone. We have had a lot of heavy rainfall here in Houston,

so it could have been washed away,or maybe someone reported it.

Sad.

Yeah that is a smart move, always keep your cats inside before and a bit after halloween, I do not get how some idiots translate this holiday into cat killing spree but they do.

F*ckers, I wish incurable/non transferable syphilis on them.

is cat killing normal, well not normal but does it happen frequently in your town? I've never seen nor heard of that here and I work at a shelter.

I don't understand how this world can be so evil? How can someone take something so innocent and do that?

Is it normal? no not normal but it happens every year so I would call it more common place but not normal.

Many shelters will not adopt out black or white cats this time of year and any cats we adopt out go with a warning to the new owners to keep them inside this time of year.

Most the time it is done by teens but animal sacrifice is still legal also in some states.

All over the USA animal mutilation cases rise between the end of Augest until just after Halloween, biggest targets are black, white and orange cats, dobermen dogs and occasionaly.

Snopes has an article on it but I'll be the first to say that most satanic faiths do NOT sacrifice animals, it is almost always disturbed teenagers.

Here is the link to snopes

http://www.snopes.com/horrors/mayhem/blackcat.asp

But like Snopes said it can not be proven much but there have been a few verified cases, if you look it up online though you will find a few cases and lots of reports were no one was ever caught

AMEN!

As far as the cat killing goes, there was a story on the local news a couple of

years ago about how these wierdos practice ritualistic" sacrifice"

around Halloween.I also heard that some animal shelters won't adopt

out black or black and white cats from Oct. to Nov.

Yeah, Halloween does seem to bring the slime out from under their rocks.

I know. First it makes me sad, then mad! I'm normally a pretty passive

individual, but cruelty to the elderly, children, and animals makes my

blood boil! I have been know to tear into someone who's been seen

kicking their dog or bullying a kid.
