So, I just got back from a wedding where I had the BEST salad with spinach, almonds, strawberries, and a vinagrette. And now I'm on a salads-with-fruit and nuts kick! Which is a good thing, because I never eat salads.<br><br><br><br>
I looked through the recipes and I saw some yummy ones there, but does anyone have a favorite salad-with-fruit recipe that's maybe not in there?

I often make a spinach salad with strawberries, almonds, dill and balsamic vinegar. Those are the only ingrediants, and dang... It's good!<br><br><br><br>
I love nuts and fruit in salad. It makes them so much better.<br><br><br><br>
Oh- and I have to add, avacado is hands down my favorite fruit in a salad.

I love nuts in salad-honestly though, I'm a bit phobic of trying fruit in salads... when I have a salad w/fruit in it I always pick the fruit out and eat it seperately. Doesn't sound good to me... I'd love to hear a recipe from anyone that fruit in salad doesn't appeal to, but that they liked.

I always make a spinach strawberry salad. Mine has a bit of sugar in it though...if your interested I'll post if but if not, I won't, lol

romaine, green apples, celery, cucumber,walnuts, golden raisins. good with a sweeter dressing.

spinach, strawberries, walnuts, gree apples, and this awesome homemade dressing... i could live off it!! Everytime i have a party i make it and it gets sooo many compliments. If you want the recipe let me know

I have a great Weight Watchers salad recipe I got from a friend.<br><br><br><br>
Salad greens of choice, I like to use mixed baby greens.<br><br>
Strawberries, quartered<br><br>
Blueberries<br><br>
Thinly sliced red onion<br><br>
Toasted pecans<br><br>
Ramen noodles, broken into small pieces and dry roasted til lightly browned on the stovetop in a skillet (I use chinese noodles instead, I think they're chow mein noodles. Much easier (no cooking required and tastes good.)<br><br><br><br>
I don't know the exact quantities off the top of my head the for the dressing mix together balsamic vinegar, sesame oil, sugar and curry powder. This dressing is so awesome and really tops the salad off quite well.

I recently made a good one with romaine, figs, and walnuts (among other veggies and things). I always have fruit in my salad. Often apple.

My favorite salad lately is organic spinach with fresh strawberries and a whole peach cut up on top with a whole grapefruit squeezed on top....it is so good and the only dressing is the grapefruit juice. I love love love this salad and the fruit on top is my favorite part.

I LOOOOOVE fruit and nuts in salad! At home I generally just make a salad of baby spinach with glazed walnuts, shredded carrots, a few dried cherries and/or blueberries, and some bottled raspberry vinaigrette. When I eat at Sweet Tomatoes, they almost always have some kind of green salad with fruit in it, and I like them all. Apples, mandarin oranges, strawberries, blueberries, cranberries. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/lick.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":lick:"> Usually almonds or walnuts for the nuts. They use a very light sweet vinaigrette that I don't know how to duplicate, though.

One of my favorite salads without fruit is:<br><br><br><br>
Fresh romaine - greener the better<br><br>
sliced fresh red pepper<br><br>
tomato<br><br>
onion (red or yellow - whatever your pref)<br><br>
sliced zucchini<br><br>
sliced yellow squash<br><br>
shredded diakon (sic?)<br><br>
sliced cucumber<br><br>
chunks of fresh avocado<br><br>
some fresh sunflower seeds (untoasted)<br><br><br><br>
I top this with a dressing made with fresh lemon juice mixed with EVOO and a bit of sea salt and somtimes some pepper.<br><br><br><br>
And in the past, I've added a bit of braggs to this dressing when I felt like it.<br><br><br><br>
Yummy no-fruit salad.<br><br><br><br>
But I LOVE LOVE LOVE fruit in a salad, too.<br><br><br><br>

The Grilled Carribean Salad at Chili's is AWESOME with pineapple and mandarin oranges. It has a non-vegan honey-lime dressing (not sure if the dressing might have dairy). Give it a try, just have them leave the chicken off.

I really enjoy grapefruit in salad.<br><br><br><br>
Baby spinach seems to be the best "green" in a salad with fruit - whether strawberries, oranges, grapefruit, blueberries, or something else.<br><br><br><br>
Toasted hazelnuts are awesome in a spinach salad, with goat cheese on top and a simple olive oil/vinegar dressing ...and cracked pepper.
