I was so sad to hear the news of his passing last night. They were discussing his work here on the news, and I thought at first, that he was preparing to make a new movie.

His last film, A Prarie Home Companion, was a great ending I suppose, to his career. Lots of the kind of witty humor which made many Altman films great.

I've only ever seen Short Cuts by Altman. Saw it once, and was very impressed. I like the fact that it was a long film too (quantity is important to me, just like quality, I feel cheated with short movies/books/TV series that get cancelled)

After reading about his passing today, I think I want to see Nashville. It seems really interesting. Too bad we don't have much of a movie selection in my Wisconsin town.
