woah...

ive almost finished my noncounting day, i think ive done ok simply because ive gotten used to how much im meant to eat after all the years counting. but a friend wanted to show me a site about RMR and BRM etc etc.

she calculated my calories and it said i only need 1,500 most days for the last..well..year or so..even on sedentary days ive been trying to get to 1900.

ive been overeating all this time and..maybe because its just gradual, ive been gradually gaining weight? which means if i keep eating what have been eating..eventually ill gain a lot? ?

...how have i been so wrong for so long! (this is potentially gonna put the 'not counting' into a tailspin. but so far very proud)

taurus: STOP.

i know it is scary

but stop counting

stop worrying about metabolic rates. they dont' take into account anything. they assume that you sit all day - or sleep all day, w/o walking to the kitchen, or going outside to get the newspaper... you won't be gaining weight by eating a normal amount. i weigh 115 at 5' and regularly consume 1900-2200 calories a day and i don't really gain weight. i fluctuate normally. worrying will only make you feel crazy and isn't healthy. eat when you're hungry, stop when you're full...

i don't want to sound mean, but are you seeing a therapist about your ED?

i think you need to listen to a professional rather than your friends. a lot of the questions that you ask on VB need to be directed to a therapist who specializes in ED's. VB people AFAIK aren't qualified to help you.

( with absolutely no offence to Libellula- who does a fantastic and selfless job )

thanks for the response. and yes, i am. it was more that nobody else was around and you guys are wise and i wanted to know what was going on.

its really weird, things were going great, not even tooooo phased by the noncounting thing but that 1500 fact just totally threw me.

its like..the days where i felt like id eaten a bit less because of overeating the day before..id stilllll been eating more htan i should. and that id gotten used to eating too much and all this otehr stuff. i LIKED not countin, for the day that it lasted. i want to do it again today, but have this overwhelming feeling that i have to 'make up' for going over sooo many times.

argh. i wont though. itsj ust...i dont know..the last few days , nonED wise have been messed up, maybe thats part of it. i couldn't sleep last night, so logic still isn't around today. i was literally lying in bed awake alll night. and i only just got up now , made coffee and thought 'fine..screw it. ill get up.' and that makes me feel even LESS in control. i like sleeping hours, i like to know im doing right by my body.

ive eaten a lot of 'scary stuff' and not counted, but now im confused.

except that ill just ignore it and keep going, i guess. it would just be nice to know ONE thing was for certain at this point in time, or something :/ i dont know..
