It has been so long since the last thread about VA that I thought I'd start a new one!! Is there really anywhere in Richmond to meet decent people?? I have done the only thing there is to do around here... clubs, bars, night life, but that isn't my scene. And while not all people who do these things are bad, its just not my type of crowd!! Any good places to meet good people?? Who I might be able to hold a conversation with, may I add??

Hi vegbee! I think your idea of volunteering at the vegetarian festival is really a good idea - you might have a chance ot meet some very interesting people. Come to the Richmond Friends of Animals table when you get a chance and you can sign up to join in on the various peaceful protests we have around town. It takes a while to meet a decent number of vegetarians here in Richmond.

If you haven't thought of volunteering at a shelter, you might want to try that. I've been a volunteer at RAL for a number of years, and I've met some really wonderful people through there. While I don't know a whole lot about the SPCA or BARK, I know they are great places to volunteer.

I really hope we meet up tomorrow! I've been on VB for nearly 6 years, and I've only met one other VBer irl. I'd love to get a picture for the "VBers you've met" thread.

I'm in Chesterfield Co., btw.

I will come by your tent and meet you!! I look foward to it, again I will be at the speaker's tent! I hope to meet some decent people I can get along with tomorrow. Its a side of Richmond I haven't been able to explore and look forward to doing so. I can't believe with all the people on here you have only met one!
I'm in Mechanicsville... but VERY familiar with RVA and all the areas surrounding. Lived in the East end and Chesterfield. And I have worked all over the place!

Sorry I missed you today. I stopped by the speaker's tent twice, but didn't see anyone who looked like you. I probably should hae given you my phone number. Duh. Anyway, if you'd ever like to meet for lunch in the city - maybe Strange Matter or Ellwood Thompson's Cafe? - let me know! I'd love to meet a VBer who lives so close.

Unfortunatly I was unable to make it. My family needed help with something at the last minute. I was really sad that I was unable to attend. I was really looking forward to meeting new people and helping out a great event. I would love to meet up as well! I share your sentiment of wanting to meet a close VB member.
