Just out of curiosity

If your having guests over and you are looking to REALLY impress them,what do you serve?

The question is : What is your signature recipe you'd like to be remembered for?

Mine is a butternut squash soup

just curious is all.

russian vegetable pie

faux seafood polenta

piroshki and borscht

hmmm...i'm hungry!

can you share your butternut squash soup recipe??? butternut is my absolute favourite of all the squashes.

I make a spinach lasagna that my guests seem to enjoy. I also love to make stuffed bell peppers when people come to dinner.

And my fiance can whip up a GREAT bananas foster. Put it with some soy vanilla ice cream, and yum!

I make a hella good....

Lasagna (vegan and 3 cheese)

Chili with boca crumbles- Fooled everyone at my church with it!

Pad Thai- I even make my own fake fish sauce!

Cauliflour curry with rice and homemade chutney

Breakfast casserole

Key Lime pie

Something I call Bombay Fried Rice, it started as a vegetable pullao recipe but I have modified it significantly though the years.

This is as close to a signature recipe as I have. I make lots fo other things thta people like though.

Thai tofu


half a block of extra firm tofu (drained and cubed)

1 tsp soy sauce

2 tsp olive oil

5-6 cloves garlic (minced)

1 small bell pepper (cut into strips)

1 tsp fresh ginger (minced)

1 jalapeno pepper (or to taste)

1 red bell pepper (cut into long strips)

marinate for several hours

Peanut sauce

3 shallot onions

1.5 T peanut butter

2 T lemon juice

.25 tsp basil

.25 tsp mint

mix together until in reaches an even consistency

place the marinade in a shallow baking dish and bake at 400 for 20 min stirring about twice

then stir in the peanut sauce and bake for another 20 min stirring about twice.

Serve on whole wheat couscous
