Not sure whether I should put this under the Florida post or here ..so mods feel free to move this but ...I wanted to share some great places I got raw food at during my week long Florida vacation this past week! (I am still suffering of having to come back to 1 degree weather from 74 degrees!)

Anyhow, my bf and I went out of our way several times to eat at some awesome raw food places.

Grass Root Organic Restaurant in Tampa: They have raw and vegan food (we got there at the last minute and they were closing but they made us something to go). http://www.thegrassrootlife.com/inde.../contactus.htm

The Present Moment Cafe in St. Augustine: All raw food (some wines). We got free raw cacao cake as it was someones birthday! http://www.thepresentmomentcafe.com/menu.htm

Glaser Organic Farms: They have a farmers market on Saturdays in Coconut Grove. OMIGOD! We bought all sorts of raw crackers, dehydrated foods, etc. They have raw ice cream and tons of raw desserts and we got a raw pizza. My bf bought a durian (which I don't like) and bought it back to give to his friend back here at home who loves durian and he said it was the most freshest durian he had. http://www.glaserorganicfarms.com/

Raw Food Underground at the Silver Tray Cafe in Jupiter: this is only on certain days. But I had the best raw tacos I have ever had - they honestly tasted like 'regular' tacos - the best tortillas wraps. And the best raw key lime pie! http://www.rawfoodunderground.com/menu.html

Robert is Here Fruit Stand in Florida City, Fl: All sorts of fresh fruit. Exotic ones and some fresh juices. http://www.robertishere.com/

Fruit and Spice Park: Not a restaurant but go for a tour if you want to get free fruit - the guide will pick stuff off the tree. You can eat anything that has fallen from the ground. I had all sorts of tropical fruit I normally can't get.

http://www.fruitandspicepark.org/

So, if you are in Florida or are planning a visit there soon, I definately recommend all these places. Yum- Yum - Yum!

I've been to Glaser's, Robert is Here, and Fruit and Spice park. I live in FL really close to Raw Food Underground, but I haven't been there yet. I'll probably go at some point because my friend has been there and says it's good and she wants to go.

Oooh, I love Glaser's raw food market on Saturdays. We go almost every week. Last week we got a treat and bought a huge piece of strawberry shortcake - it was divine! Our favorites are the nori rolls and the cashew vanilla nut shakes. Not to mention all the fresh produce. It's not cheap to shop there, but it's worth it!

We got to talk to the chef at the Raw Food Underground. I forget her name but she does gourmet raw food and studied at Hippocrates in Florida. It is on going but they don't know how long they will be doing the Raw Food Underground. So, go as soon as you can - just in case!

It really was some of the best raw food I have ever had. (esp the pie!)
