I want to start by saying that I am a vegetarian who seldom eats dairy and never eats eggs. It seems like everyone is very concerned with the hidden ingredients that might keep something from being vegan. Things like D3, Lactose (which is sometimes derived from fermented vegetables by the way), carmine, etc.
So here's my question, lets say that you are looking through the candy aisle, carefully reading the backs of packages and find a seemingly vegan candy. Do you buy it, even though you do not know where the sugar came from? My thought is that you can't really know which products are made with sugar filtered with bone char. Unless the product is specifically labeled vegan. Lots of things, not just candy are made with sugar, like soups, salad dressings, etc.
