In a rare fit of organization, I decided to go through some of the promos I collected but never bothered to listen to while working at a book & music store. Most of the promos I got were good -- jazz, classical, or new things I was going to buy anyway -- but this stack of 50 or so just looked odd. Here's some of the stranger things I found amongst them:

The Temptations singing in German (!)

A song about Tanya Harding

A Musical based on Huckleberry Finn (it's painful -- I'm tempted to keep it just to torture people)

Irish drinking songs -- apparently sung by authentic Irish drunks.

Techno Flamenco music

A "Reel Big Fish" video (only odd to me because I went to High

School with them)

Some atonal Aztec music featuring Placido Domingo

A jazz singer who can't scat in key to save her life (or sing in

time) and whose tone is atrocious.

Now I need to find out what to do with all this stuff... the CD cases I can use, at least.

My personal favorite, the one that goes, "Beer, Beer, Beer,Beer..."

Oh, but there's a big difference between weird and just plain bad.
The Temptations aren't bad, but "Mein Girl" is a little, um, different. The same CD has Smokey Robinson singing in Spanish.
