When I'm in Gmail and I click the compose mail link in Firefox I get a red "Loading" box in the top right of my window but the page does not change and I am unable to send mail. I am able to respond to mail that I have received but the letters in the sentences I type come up about one every two seconds which makes it problematic to send emails, especially those that are longer than a sentence or two.

Does anyone know how I can fix this problem? I have tried reinstalling firefox and using other gmail accounts but I have the same problem with each. All other gmail functions are working fine. I can compose mail normally in IE but it's annoying to have to switch browsers every time I need to send an email.

Try clearing your cache.

If that doesn't work, clear your cookies.

A quick search on google suggests many people with the same problem have had success by clearing their cache.

Cleared the cache and my cookies and it's still not working.

I know it must be something with my computer because I don't have this problem when I access my email at school. I'm going to run Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy.
