My dog is having a lymph node biopsy and other tests for staging tomorrow. He probably has lymphosarcoma. I'm an idiot. I took him in thinking he might have a fatty tumor or even an inguinal hernia because of where his mass was located. Turns out he had swollen nodes all over and an enlarged spleen. He's just so big they weren't noticeable, to me anyway. The vet found them immediately. If it's the most common type of lymphosarcoma, with chemo the vet gave a prediction of 18 months to 3 years. I'd love to have 3 years but won't get my hopes up that high.<br><br><br><br>
So he could use prayers/good vibes. I'm so worried about him right now. He stayed with the vet for lab work and stuff tonight.

don't know if you are religious at all, but you could check your local churches this fall for any Blessing of Pets ceremonies that may be happening (The Feast of St. Francis of Assisi is Oct. 4th)<br><br>

I know how hard it is to face a serious illness with your beloved furbabies, but just don't give up hope. My own furbaby had an awful case of encephalitis last year & we were told he probably wouldn't make it. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/bigcry.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=""> Yet here we are, nearly a year later & he is now doing well & the prognosis is good. So yes, miracles are possible. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smitten.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":smitten:"><br><br><br><br><i>ETA</i>: Please let us know how things turn out.

I was given at most 2 years w/my oldest cat (heart/kidney probs) ...10years later she's still here. Miracles can happen! Even if they don't, a loving home and family is all any animal needs, which obviously that's what your doggy has, and we all know weither 18months, 3 years, 5years..etc... your dog will have a great life w/you!!!! Hang in there and spoil the living crap outta him!

Cesar could use more prayers and good thoughts. He's been on chemo for a few weeks and at first had a great response, but it only lasted a few weeks and now it's come back and is apparently resistant to the chemo protocol. So tomorrow he gets a rescue drug that is quite toxic to the liver, but it's his only chance. Neither my vet or the oncologist he called thinks his outlook is good, since his cancer seems quite aggressive, but I'm not giving up yet.<br><br><br><br>
He's in the hospital right now overnight for yet another infection and he won't eat much, so he can use any and all prayers and good vibes. I have an immune boosting supplement for him made specifically for dogs with cancer, but when he's not eating, it's next to impossible to get him to take it. In fact, I have a whole list of supplements to buy for him, if he would only start feeling well enough to take them.
