This is my third time around in dealing with a brain tumor that has been hounding me for several years. I thought that surgery followed by radiation would take care of this, at least for a long time. However, a couple weeks ago, I had a routine MRI, and the radiologist spotted a small nodule(about the size of a dime), consistent with recurrence of disease. So, it has started growing back. I spoke to the neurosurgeon last week , and he cannot operate to take it out. He recommended I talk to the hospital's oncologist. I have an appt. with her in a few hours. Her opinion won't be the final word, because we are alraedy dealing with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, one of the best in the US/the world.

What I ask is that you pray for me, not just today, but I want this tumor to go away. I have heard great things about the power of prayer. And, while not a Christian or religious at all, I believe that it can work. I need all the help I can get. So, my name is Mike Blomquist. If you can pray for me, or have the members of your church pray for me, or do whatever you can, I will be endlessly grateful...

I know that stuff like this would normally go in the OT forum, but I just wanted to get to as many people as possible...I have already posted this on a couple other forums

That's so sad, Mike. I hope things turn out great for you and that tumor goes away.

I have a suggestion. This may sound wacky, but try eating mostly Raw foods. I dont' know how many people I've heard about that had a tumor or disease of some kind that 'went raw' and the tumor disappeared. It's all about rebuilding your body with living foods with enzymes that build cells. Cooked food has no enzymes left in it, cause heat kills them.

I don't know if you're vegan or veggie, I'm assuming you are with a screen name like Tofuhead, but if you can eat only raw veggies, fruits, nuts and seeds for a while, you may see some improvement. Don't quote me on this, I'm just repeating what I've heard from many other people about a Raw Foods Diet.

Also, and this is important--- cancer cells feed off of sugar. Quit eating anything with refined sugar in it. Don't feed that tumor.

Good luck to you.

I agree with jwnyc about the diet. Try treating your whole body instead of just the tumor. One of my teachers in high school went strict vegan when she was diagnosed with cancer--lots of raw foods, absolutely NO processed sugar or processed foods of any kind, and she's been in remission for years. (She also had radiation and chemo, so I don't think the diet thing alone can make the tumor go away.)

Btw: Tofuhead, I'm not religious either, but what I understand for myself is that prayer (of sorts) is very much like a meditation (of sorts) for willing what you want basicly, such as channeling good(and bad) energy!.....and it can prepare you for attaining the right enlighenment to fulfill your purpose in some way or other, and to influence the way you desire the course of your actions by seeing in your minds eye the outcome of something with posiitve relaxed thinking and spiritual wellness in general too.

Mike, I will definitely keep you in my prayers. What kind of tumor do you have and what part of your brain is it in? (Just wondering. You don't have to answer. I have a little meningioma myself, but it's supposed to be no big deal.)

I second what the others have said about diet being important. I have heard macrobiotic diets work well for tumors also.
