I just read about the dangers of all plastics that we store our food in and since I try to pack a healthy lunch everyday for work I use many tupperware bowls for easy tranportation, but now no longer want to use hazardous plastic. Anyone have ideas for an environmental friendly way to pack a healthy lunch and get it to work safely?

The lady from vegan lunch box recently bought a stainless steel carrier http://www.to-goware.com/products.php. I admit I just use plastic and transfer food into ceramic before nuking it.

I don't know if you can find them in the Indian grocery stores here, but in India they have these fantastic thermos like containers that carry three to four covered stainless steel containers stacked atop each other. We have two small ones that have smaller containers and one with larger containers. They are fantastic and keep your food hot or cold when you take it for lunch, picnic or whatever.

I had seen that metal lunchcarrier on veganlunchbox. It looks cool.

You can get those tiered thermos-like containers at ethnic stores. I saw some online, but had never heard of the company ... This sort of thing?

http://www.gandhiappliances.com/inde...roducts_id=522

Recently, I purchased some glass food storage containers. They work well to use at home and can travel individually. I wouldn't toss them in a backpack, though. http://www.crateandbarrel.com/family.aspx?c=670&f=204

Jinga, thank you for the link, that's exactly what I was talking about (including the goofy decorative illustration on the side of the thermos container.) I can't emphasize how fantastic these containers are. We take them lots of places and they always work fantastically.
