This is an (apparently) vegetarian option that I see in a lot of Italian/pizzeria type restaurants around here. I'm mystified. Is it scrambled eggs with ground pepper? Diced hard-boiled eggs with green peppers? Eventually I'll get bored with my other options and actually ask someone at the restaurant, but I thought I'd throw it out here first. What is it?

I'm guessing its eggs with green peppers, like a psuedo-omelet-in-a-roll, actually. I don't do eggs though, so I'm no expert ;-) Ask to make sure its meatless... including watching out for little bits of the "egg and sausage" sub being cooked right before/next to it.

That was my guess too. If I ever decide to order it I'll definitely ask and make sure I know what I'm getting.

This puzzled me too for the longest time and I was too shy to ask Finally I asked at a pizza place where this was on the menu and yes, it is scrambled-ish eggs with sauteed peppers. Around here you can also get egg and mushroom subs, which not being a big fan of peppers I actually prefer.

I grew up on pepper and egg sandwiches! Yes, it is simply scrambled eggs with fried peppers...at least our version of it is. Potatoes are a great addition too!
