I'm from western PA and I don't remember how close this is to Center City, but the Reading Market is a lot of fun.

Its a ton of different little stores in the old station. There's more omni then veg*n food, but there's a lot of ethnic shops and you can get vegetarian and vegan cheesesteaks there.
