I'm at a weird stage of my life where my "lifelong dreams" I've had for 21 years are completely changed, I've got some financial issues, and I just feel lost and confused overall.

I am going to school for special education and a minor in Spanish, but lately I'm feeling like I don't really want to do that anymore. I want to change people's live, help others, and try to avoid the "big man"/ system as much as possible. My best friend suggested I join Peace Corps... and I'd like to hear some opinions on it!

I studied abroad in Spain for a semester a year or so ago, so I can handle the culture and environmental difference (for the most part
)... I'm just curious about everything else.

So if any of you have been in peace corps and would be willing to share a story or two, I'd appreciate it! Thanks!

My friend is in it right now, he was sent some where in central america, i forget where. It's super hard on the people you love, I haven't spoken to him in a year because well, he's gone. You have to ask yourself if that's even a possibility.

The Peace Corps is not a solution for the lost and confused. What do you want to do for the Peace Corps? They expect a skill they can use. They will also ask for details of your "financial issues."

There are many other service organizations out there, many of which don't require such a large commitment.
