VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia (AP) -- Evangelical broadcaster Pat Robertson said Tuesday that God has told him that a terrorist attack on the United States would cause a "mass killing" late in 2007.

"I'm not necessarily saying it's going to be nuclear," he said during his news-and-talk television show "The 700 Club" on the Christian Broadcasting Network.

http://us.cnn.com/2007/US/01/02/robe....ap/index.html

This former Virginian officially does not endorse this comment.

This present Virginian wishes Pat Robertson would move. Better still, shut up.

Does he ever say anything helpful?

While I don't have the highest opinion of Robertson, it is interesting to note that a speaker came to my church a few weeks ago and said that some crazy things were going to happen in 2007, and to be prepared. An unrelated professor also said that she had feelings that some crazy things were going to happen very soon.

It's just interesting is all, and I have to wonder. But that no way means I am going to start hanging on every word of Pat Robertson >.> He is uh... yeah. And they weren't talking about nuclear bombs, they were talking (IIRC) more about societal issues.

So if a thought comes into Robertson's mind, he believes and states as a fact that "God told him" such and such.

If I did that, but said "the aliens told me" such and such, I'd be called a loon.

"God told me" = gets a free pass

anything else = loonie
