i am so disturbed right now. my stomach is turning inside out and i am holding back tears.

there is this other forum i visit and i really do not know why i go there. today someone posted a video about cruelty towards a pig. it was a joke so i felt the need to go in and tell them that no cruelty is a joke. what i saw made me run to the bathroom and be sick.

he had posted a link to a movie of a man with a chainsaw cutting off the head of a live pig. the replies were composed of people laughing to making comments about how funny it was to watch the body still kicking after it was beheaded. people made comments about "mmm bacon" and not a single person seemed to be bothered by it.

what the $#*% is wrong with people?!? for one how can ANYONE do this to a living breathing animal? and also how can people watch this and laugh?!?!?!? i did not click the link to the video but when scrolling down to post a reply someone thought it was funny to make an animated gif and posted it in clear view. this is what made me run to the bathroom.

i really do not have a point for posting this. i am just so disturbed by this. i do not think i will ever go back to this forum. i just cannot believe this. i know my dreams are going to be haunted tonight. this is just so wrong on so many different levels

I feel for you. Yesterday I had a deer head plopped in my lap. Then later, I found a jug of deer blood on my porch, from my SO's uncle "with love." People suck. I'm sorry you saw that.

That is extremely disturbing. Very sad. What kind of forum is this, the psychopath forum? I would ordinarily say that you should post something about it to wake these people up, but then you've got to figure that people who laugh at such a thing would probably laugh off your concerns as well. It also would seem that the activity in the video clip you describe would violate animal cruelty laws, but I have no idea about how you would track down the people who actually murdered the pig or took the video. Sorry, all I can offer is to say how sorry I am that you witnessed that and that it makes me sick just thinking about it.

Lani and evilvegan, I feel for both of you. I hope all those people rot.

I don't understand why the lives of animals are not taken as seriously as the lives of humans. They are living things just like us (not to mention more civilized, as evidenced by these stories).

BTW, since the clip was from a movie, did this really happen to the pig or was it a sick joke (not that it matters at all, but I didn't quite understand what you were saying).

Did a quick search and so far have found this:

Reading the text in the article makes me appreciate ogrish.com more then other alternative journalism sites. They contacted PETA to notify them about this, and ask for assistance from the public in catching the people involved. They did a similar thing with another video that showed a kitten being killed. The people who were in the video were caught, and then Ogrish removed the video since there was no longer a need for it to be up.
I haven't been able to find anything on PETA about it.

I was walking into a restaurant with some friends a week or so ago and we passed a group of people in a parking lot, kids and adults. As we got closer I noticed that they were gathered around the back of a pickup, and there were pictures being taken. As I kept going, I saw that the pictures being taken were of small boys (probably 7-8 years of age) holding a disembodied deer's head. There was blood on it still, eyes, nose and everything. I heard one of the women say "Aww, how cute! Smile, Bambi! (laughter)" as I kept walking.

The whole experience was a surreal nightmare. I can't imagine having one dropped in my lap. I'd flip out.

I'm sorry that you and the OP had these experiences.

Some of those people may not honestly find it funny. Laughing at it is a way for them to show their "toughness" to their peers, which need is of course emphasized in a context where there are a lot of those kind of people. If they were to watch such footage by themselves, without worrying how they look to others, they might have a different reaction.

Either way, such socially motivated posturing is weakness and I don't feel any positive feelings towards them.

I saw that horrible video too, on a childish forum I frequent. I was very disturbed by it and can't shake the image. It was absolutely horrifying because the link they associated it with said something like "save the animals." But it was just a trick.

I posted something about it. So did others. We were made fun of, but the thread was deleted, so mission accomplished.

I hope the people who did it get caught and go to jail!

When I hear about this sort of thing, and people's reaction to it, I sometimes marvel that I'm of the same species and live on the same planet as they do.

Thanks for the replies. I feel better knowing that people out there side with me on this issue. I mean I knew there people who felt the same as I but it is just good to see. I was alone on that forum in my disgust

And omg bad memories of deer hunting
My grandpa made me go one time and he would not tell me what we were actually doing. I was young and my innocent mind did not understand why anyone would harm such a beautiful creature. (yes i know it is hypocritical because i ate a hamburger but did not think about eating a deer... i was only like 7 or 8 at the time) but anyway

We were in the woods and he made me watch him kill one. I ran up to it bawling and pet it while it was breathing its last breath. I never looked at my grandpa in the same way since then. I thought of him as barbaric and evil.
I can still see that poor deers face and his eyes staring into mine as he faded from this life. My grandpa ended up hitting me for crying and not holding a gun. I have not touched a gun since.

God, that's horrible! I'm glad I didn't grow up around hunting/gun culture.

That's horrible. It must be difficult to remember things like that.

the world is a shadow of darkness

in their malevolent dominion they torture with an iron fist

but in our benevolent dominion we protect with hands of love

may the hope of God spring forth and be the lantern onto which we purge the darkness

until the darkness is no more and all is revealed in his holy light
