WORLD FARM ANIMALS DAY, observed on or around October 2nd, is a time for all to stand up to the pointless suffering and death of 50 billion cows, pigs, turkeys, chickens, and other innocent, feeling animals in the world's factory farms and slaughterhouses. The occasion is observed with events and activities in all 50 states and two dozen other countries. The date marks the birthday of ethical vegetarian, Mahatma Gandhi.

USDA die-in (washington, Dc)

Join FARM, PETA, Compassion Over Killing, Vegetarian Society of DC, Baltimore Animal Rights Coaltion, and other groups as we hold a die-in for farmed animals outside the US Department of Agriculture in Washington, DC.

We need your support to make this a big show for farmed animals. Participating is easy (just wear black if you can). Snacks from Sticky Fingers Vegan Bakery and Java Green Deli will be provided.

When: Sunday, October 1st, 12 noon - 2 pm

Where: 14th St & Independence, Washington DC (across from USDA)

Parking is tight but it's Sunday so it's not too bad. The location is also metro accessible (closest metro stop is the Smithsonian).
It's only 2 hours of your Sunday to make a big difference. Plus you get vegan treats from the stick fingers bakery
