Im sorry, I can offer no prize, but what I want to try is this: Have fun thinkin up some silly alternatives for sayings like these :

"Im so hungry i could eat a horse! "

"Two birds with one stone"

"All your eggs in one basket"

"Have a cow!"

and, thats all I can think of. Have fun!

I know theres more.

I changed some of the ones you mentioned

"Im so hungry i could eat horseradish! "

"All your eggplants in one basket"

Here's some new ones ....

"running around like a lettuce with it's head cut off"

"a zuchini in the hand is worth two in the bush" (ok, whoever's thinking naughty thoughts, quit that
)

ok, its late ... my brain just told me to stop making it think now .... it say it will cause huge amounts of typos unless I stop

The cookbook Vegan Vittles has a ton of these in it. Some of them are just too odd for me to handle -- I'm too well indoctrinated with the meat sayings.
For example -- it replaces "Running around like a chicken with its head cut off" with "Running around in circles" which is not *nearly* so strong a visual. Oh well...

These aren't sayings, but I veganize food names for my 3yr old so there isn't too much confusion. We say soy milk, soy ice cream, veggie pepperoni, soy butter, ect. He now knows to ask if something is made with cow milk or soy milk, ect.

"I'm a meat and potatoes kinda guy" = "I'm a tofu and potatos kinda guy" - I think it describes me just as much- and it's fun to say, I generally get one person in a group asking me what I mean- that's when I walk away and someone else can explain it!
