Have you tried sleeping during a time you normally don't sleep at?
This month I hope to lose another eight pounds, though I'll admit I'm scared to go back to the gym after my knee.
I gained a pound, lost no inches. I'm going to keep trying, even though it's frustrating. I'm going to make another workout calendar tonight or tomorrow. I also made freezer smoothie packs for the week so I will be getting all of my fruits and veggies in (mostly fruit, although I will add spinach).

I messed myself up toward the end of the month and didn't lose any more weight. In fact, I might have gained a pound or two. :( I need to cook more, eat less and make sure I adhere to my workouts. And eat more beans!

You're so organized. I keep telling myself to pre-cut veggies and toss them into handy little containers so I can make fast stir fries and stuff like tofu scramble with veg but I'm too lazy to expend the effort at the front end.

It helps to use frozen fruits for smoothies. It's much easier than chopping everything up. I only used fresh bananas, everything else is pre-frozen. I did go to Sprouts and buy some fresh spinach, I'm going to make frozen spinach cubes with them either tonight or tomorrow. I'm a procrastinator, but like to take smoothies to work. I usually have 1 minute before I have to leave when I remember "I need to make a smoothie!" That's what the bags are for :p

I only use frozen stir fry veggies too, otherwise I end up wasting them because I can't eat them in time. Yesterday I bought some veggies to have on hand, I plan on slicing them up for snacks. I wish apples didn't brown fast, I would precut those. If it's not precut, it's unlikely I'll eat it. That's why I toss most fresh foods I buy. I have zucchini and cucumbers in the fridge, I should preslice them for snacks (cucumber) and dinner sides (zucchini).

The bags really don't take long, maybe 10 minutes at most. I sliced up the bananas and froze them on a plate before adding them to the bags.

Okay, I got back down to 159 pounds this morning. I'm back on track working out, eating my beans and lots of salads. Tonight when I get home from work I'm going to make a bunch of greens in my electric pressure cooker and maybe a couple of soups since it's turning colder here. If you haven't tried Isa Chandra's Smoky Tomato Lentil soup with spinach and olives, you have no idea what you're missing. http://www.theppk.com/2013/03/smoky-tomato-lentil-soup-with-spinach-olives/ I'm thinking of making that and a vegan French Onion soup. And maybe a pot of beans with jalapenos and lime juice also.

That's great!

I threw my back out the other day, and after the knee thing I'm a little afraid to go back to the gym yet, but I've been eating fantastically so we shall see if I can pull off some weight loss with food alone.
It can be done! How are you feeling, River? Any better since your bout with junk food poisoning?

Yea, my appetite has gone back to normal and my back is almost back to normal. And I didn't gain any weight from it, so I have that going for me :p
Oh good. I'm glad to hear it. :)

Your packets of fruit look great. :) We all eat smoothies for breakfast here, and I agree about the frozen fruit. You don't need any ice or anything using it. :) For apples and pears, if you use a little lemon or lime juice on them right after slicing, it stops the browning.

Hi there :) I'd like to join in on the November weight loss challenge. I just had my second baby 6 weeks ago and have been in survival mode. She's still not sleeping well at night so I'm no yet doing much exercise since any down time I have is needed for sleep, but I'm working on improving my diet and have started cooking again. My current food goal is to get lots more fruits, veggies, beans and water and less soda, fries, sweets and cheese. My ultimate weight goal is to lose 30lbs to get back to the weight I was pre-children, but this month's goal is to lose those last 5lbs from this pregnancy. Once I start getting some more sleep, I'll be walking and eventually working my way up to running in the mornings while my oldest is at school. Lucky for me our apartment has a gym I can use on all those cold winter mornings.

Ugh. I was too hungry when I got home from work last evening and ate too much. Now I feel bloated. I've had problems finding time to grab a snack while working lately and I'm undermining my progress by crescendo eating once I get home. I also need a heavier set of weights for my workouts since the ones I have are really too light to make measurable progress but I don't want to make that investment just yet. Sigh.
I hope you are feeling better today Raised By Wolves. How is everyone doing this week?

I made some progress with eating better and had dinner at home every day this week. I've also managed to eat almost no animal products, just some butter spray on a baked potato and a veggie burger that may have contained eggs/dairy. No cheese! Exercise hasn't happen much due to lack of sleep, but I managed a 30 minute walk today in the snow. Most excitingly, I've broken the 150 mark and am now down to 148.5/149lbs. Only a few pounds left until my first goal of pre-baby #2 weight (pre-baby #1 weight is still a long way off).

This week my goals are:

- Continue to make dinner at home every night.
- Post my meals on a "what did you eat today" thread to stay accountable.
- Drink 2 jugs of water a day (it's more of a big travel cup).
- Do 10 push-ups and 10 crunches every day. It doesn't seem like much but the idea is to start the habit of doing something and I'm guessing once I start I'll do more than the minimum.
- Fit in my 4 walks this week.

I hope everyone is doing well :)

That's great Jinga!

I've been eating well and taking all my food, yet I haven't gone back to exercising since my back issue. I have some personal life stuff going on that is making exercising seem unusually daunting.
I'm doing Weight Watchers (kinda). I don't work until Friday night, so I can watch my food intake until then. I need to go shopping for food desperately, but I feel like crap right now.

I am allowed 25 points, I have consumed 5 already for the day with instant oatmeal. I might have a frozen meal for lunch because I'm expecting my cousin and don't have time to go shopping at all.
