Why is it that there are so many cool options when you buy regular garden burgers like portobella, Santa Fe, Greek, etc. But when you buy a vegan burger, it's just plain Garden Burger. Has anyone seen a cool variety of Garden Burgers that are vegan?

I believe the Chik'n Burgers by Gardenburger are vegan. It's been a while since I checked though, so I could be wrong. The BBQ "ribs" by Gardenburger are vegan, too. Morningstar Farms has a vegan burger at least by looking at the ingredients list it appears to be vegan (it's the hamburger style ones). There's also the vegan Boca burgers. Amy's puts out some veggie burgers too and I think some of those are vegan.

There are also some good veggie burger mixes out there by Fantastic Foods. You can also find tons of recipes to make your own.

Gardenburger "Grillers" are vegan and taste the most like a flame-grilled hamburger of any meat analogue I've tried. The BBQ Chik'n unfortunately contains whey, but is quite good; I wish we got the vegan ribs around here.

cool thanks. I guess I didn't look very far. I was at the store yesterday and got really frustrated becasue I wanted to eat some of the neat ones and couldn't find anything interesting that was vegan. Maybe I'll try the natural food store which has a larger variety of vegan products.

The amy's texas burger is soooo yummy! And it's definately different from many of the vegan veggie burgers out there. I'm not fond of the Garden Vegan ..

My favorite burgers come from Turtle Island. My favorite flavor is the tex mex. Think a moist temph patty with a hint of soy sauce and whole kernnels of corn, solid black beans and, slivers of bell peppers! The other too I have tried and they are good with rice chunks in them however I am a bean kind of girl.

I haven't tried any of these other vegan items mentioned other than Boca's vegan burger. I actually really like Whole Foods brand vegan burger better than Boca's.

Fantastic Foods Nature's Burger is awesome, and so much cheaper too! You can make 6 patties from the mix that costs around $2, rather than 4 patties for more than $4.50.

The Wild Oats store brand vegan burger is really good, but Amy's California Burger is the best, and vegan too.

For a change of pace the Chick-n Patties (not BBQ) from Gardenburger are vegan and really tasty. They are especially good cooked on the grill. You'd be surprised.

The Dr.Pragers veggie burgers (California?) are great, available at Trader Joes. Dont taste a lick like hamburgers, just crispy veggies in a patty. Yum!

Does anyone else have the damnedest time finding vegan burger buns? Both of the HFS in my area occasionally carry one brand, and their hotdog buns contain honey! Grrrr!

I can't find decent vegan buns to save my life. Traders Joe's has their brand sometimes, but I don't care for them much. I e-mailed Vermont Bread Company about the "enzymes" listed on their hamburger bun package but they never answered me.

Food for Life, they make that Ezekiel bread, makes a fine sprouted grain hamburger bun, hot dog buns too. They're very tasty, especially when toasted. They're very easy to find in most supermarket chains.
