FORWARDED MESSAGE

Our battle continues in the case of the "World's Smallest Horse," who is

exhibited at the Funtown Pier in Seaside Park, N.J. This tawdry,

exploitative

exhibitin which a miniature pony stands in a tiny pit all day while people

pay

a dollar to gawk at himis still in operation. Last year, PETA wrote to

Mayor Robert Matthies, only to receive a response saying that the pony was

fine

and that he had plenty of fresh hay and enough room to move around.

Many concerned visitors this year have apparently been told by the display's

operators that the pony is taken out of the small enclosure at night and

given privacy and space to roam around, but PETA has received reports

indicating

otherwise. In one instance, a tourist reportedly witnessed that the display

was going strongwith the same ponyat 2:30 a.m.

Everyone who has contacted PETA with concerns about this pony has mentioned

the scorching heat and humidity and said that the animal appears to be

depressed and lethargic.

Please contact Mayor Matthies and politely voice your objections to this

display. Ask him to ban animal displays from Seaside Park, and let him know

that

you won't visit Funtown Pier until this pony is given a reprieve from his

imprisonment:

concerned.
