I've only got White Blood Cells, which I think is really cool... but Elephant is high on my priority list I heard the latest White Stripes single on the radio today, and I really really like it.
It starts off strong - Seven Nation Army and Black Math are really great songs - but I think it sort of loses steam towards the end. It's not a bad album but it doesn't grab me like White Blood Cells did.

They were bad ass on Conan the other week. I only caught the last day they were on.
One of my coworkers has been playing this so frequently that I doubt I'll have to go out and buy my own. But I probably will.

I never even heard of The White Stripes until they were on Conan for a week. I've got to get that CD! We're taking a road trip in three weeks, so I better put it on my list of "things to get" before then! Definitely good stuff.
I picked up the CD today, and I've got to say I'm very impressed. I listened to it while I worked out, and I found myself at the end of my workout before I knew it.

White Blood Cells is next on my list.........
If you liked Elephant, you should love White Blood Cells. Look for the John Peel Sessions next. It's not an official release but some record shops have it. It has songs off each of their first three albums with some covers. It's a really energetic set, just like the performances on Conan.
All I know is that whenever I play the track "hypnotize", I feel the need to dance around the house like an idiot

much like Mr. Carrot here.
I have White Blood Cells. Listening to it for the first time now. This cd is really going to rock once I learn the words. I'm going to pick up Elephant sometime today.
I just picked up White Blood Cells today. It had a bonus CD that came with it that includes two more tracks plus 4 videos. I haven't checked it out yet, but definitely will tomorrow! Anyway, does anyone know what the song is called and what album it's on where he's singing about Justine and asking her to please not take his man? They performed it on Conan one of the nights that they were on his show.
We watched the Conan thing. Some songs were great, other songs not so great, and then there was the night they belted out Jolene that sent shivvers down my spine, and left me speechless thinking "wow, this is good ****!"
I just recently got their cd and will look out for white blood cells.

Does anyone know their story about how they would pretend they were bro and sis when they are in fact married.

I love umm whats is the song title (i'm horrible at details like that and can't be bothered to go out to my car and check) i think its about track 14 or 15 the words go something like 'i love jack white like a little brother...' its quite funny but still gets stuck in my head and i lovvvvve seven nation army.

Does anyone know any other cd that are similar same type of music etc? I'm expanding my music tastes but feeling quite illiterate musically at the moment
I was wondering what's up with the brother & sister thing, too.

If you like White Stripes, you might like Blind Melon. It's not "new" music, but it's really good, IMO. Here's a link to samples of their music. Check out "Mouthful of Cavities" on the Soup album. My favorite!

http://www.streamwaves.com/new/defau...=314&sid=26752
They're not married either. They were, but they got a divorce. I remember 89X (radio station) in Detroit talking about them before they got big, and they mentioned how, at the time, they were married but marketing themselves as brother and sister. I guess the brother/sister thing is just their schtick.

thats funny. I thought they were brother and sister and that the pretending instead that they were (once) married was their schtick...

I think thats probably the point, you see us discussing this is bringing attention towards them
