I've been a few times, it's 1 street from my house.

It's simple & cheap food. I'd say it's a greasy spoon, though perhaps they wouldn't be too chuffed with that description. Personally, I welcome a veggie place that isn't full of hippies and yacht club types.

I had my first ever taste of Coronation Chicken the other day :-D

Nothing wrong with a greasy spoon occasionally
They used to have a good little vegetarian restaurant along the Kings Heath High Street years ago - Gingers, I think it was called. Closed down a good while ago though, unfortunately.

Can't say I know of Ginger's. There's a few places about, though. There's Manic Organic (but the vegan options are rubbish).. Actually, that's it for totally veggie places in KH, but a bunch of places to vegan cakes and Cherry Reds also do some other vegan stuff (sanwiches, falafel). Aaaaaaaaaaaand there's talk of the Prince of Wales pub in Moseley getting some vegan real ale in

Sounds good. We've only got one vegetarian/vegan cafe in Worcester, although there is a greasy spoon cafe that does veggie stuff as well as meat. We do have a really nice cafe that does vegan ginger and vegan chocolate cake though
And a fantastic Mexican restaurant that has loads of vegan choices.

I'm talking about 20 years ago with Gingers - it was one of two veggie restaurants in Birmingham at that time, the other began with Z- (Zebedees?) and was in Alum Rock. Not sure if that is still there now, either

From what I hear there were actually more veggie places in Brum 20 years ago. Jyoti's opened in the 70's and is still going, I'm not sure when Rogan's opened but I get the feeling it was there a while before it closed about 5 years ago. The warehouse has been there for quite a long tim, and One Earth has been around for 25 years or more (I know the warehouse isn't a cafe, but you have to count it). And of course there are a bunch of veggie sweet centres.

Oh, and in Wolverhampton now there's a place called Veggie Lounge, it's run by Sikh veggies so it's all no meat, no egg. They also do vegan pizzas. It opened towards the end of last year and I;ve STILL not made it along
