I don't know if anyone else is like me, but sometimes I hear a song and it absolutely bowls me over and sticks in my head for days. Sometimes a song takes a few listens to really get to me but once it does, it sticks with me for a while.<br><br><br><br>
This topic is for people to listen songs that are new to them that they love. It doesn't matter how old the song is, just as long as it's new to you. I'd also like to hear where you heard the song because I'm intereseted in learning how people discover new music.<br><br><br><br>
I've been listening to Pandora.com which is fantastic for discovering new music. There are a lot of songs I've discovered that I like a lot and some that I absolutely love. The two most recent are:<br><br><br><br>

So glad to see the New Pornographers get props! They are great. If you like the song, you'll love the album. Please consider giving the whole album a try. I now consider "Use It" to be one of my favorite songs.<br><br><br><br>
One ridiculously bouncy song I've been listening to lately is Nth Degree by Morningwood.

I listen to the Princeton University radio station a lot. They play a really interesting mix of music.

I currently have "I Constantly Thank God For Esteban" by Panic! At The Disco running through my head. But all their stuff is good. I like Morningwood too.

From newer things <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/wink3.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=";)"> I have recently discovered Dresden Dolls (theyre not very popular here) and love 'Good day' (haha, how typical it is) and Half Jack

"I'm In Love" - performed by Wilson Pickett written by Bobby Womack.<br><br><br><br>
Recorded in 1968, first heard by me a few weeks ago. I'm a sucker for a love song and at 2:32 it always has me wishing for another verse and chorus.

I've had the song "Confined" by As I Lay Dying stuck in my head all week. And when that song isn't churning through my brain, Lumin's "Stiga" is constantly alternating. Quite the combination, eh?

You HAVE to hear their 2nd album, "Yes, Virginia."<br><br><br><br>
Oh man, it is good. Not to say the first one isn't fantastic, but this one is even 100 times better.

On the Dresden Dolls page, in their "our heroes" section of the links, Legendary Pink Dots is listed as the first. (It's great that they hold one of my favourite bands in such a high regard. I actually heard about DD via LPD, in live shows DD has opened for LPD.)

I think it's great how old songs can be new for people. "Hey Jude" is a great song. The Beatles remain one of my all time favorite groups. I've been listening to them for almost 40 years now.

When i first read the thread, I immediately thought of my latest CD purchase which was the soundtrack from "Weeds" (Excellent TV on Showtime). New Porn is featured with "The Laws Have Changed." Love the music and wonder wonder wonder about the lyrics. Great soundtrack overall. So strange how music can deja vu: Another favorite song on the CD is "David" by Nellie McKay, whom I had never heard of - then I went to Three Penny Opera in NYC, and there she was, starring. Go figure. Music finds you. New Porn has such a full vocal sound - now I want the album!

<b>"Watch Her Disappear" by Tom Waits!</b><br><br><br><br>
I never have time for music anymore, so it's been my favorite for a while now... Here are the lyrics if anyone cares. If you like mellow, poetry-like music and haven't heard of Tom Waits yet, definitely check this song out! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/images/smilies/smiley.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title=":)"><br><br><br><br><a href="http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/watch-her-disappear-lyrics-tom-waits/527da41591163e224825717a0011a0e2" target="_blank">http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.n...25717a0011a0e2</a>

Okay. So I know this isn't indie or anything good music wise- however, at the moment I'm in a bit of a..... slump- so the song, "I'll Be" by... Edward McCain is making me feel uber warm inside... I know it's a pop song that probably was over played, etc etc.<br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br>
but sometimes that doesn't matter.
