i just signed up and thought it would be polite to introduce myself, not that this will contain a complete biography - but let's see it as a ability to shake hands,

no?

well, i have been vegetarian since 2000 and currently i am wanting to go fruitarian, this of course will cause trouble with my social life and parents most and for all, but i am 19 and boss of my own body.

i have a long history with anorexia, but i will not go into that right now because it is anything but cheering.

if i wouldn't have gotten my disease i would've turned vegetarian any how i am pretty sure, but i do admit my eating disorder has made me extremely conscious of what goes in my body as you might imagine.

right now i am on a line somewhere between anorexia and normal eating, it is a hard road to walk because i tend to fall back into my bad habbits. my feelings tell me to keep messing with food but my brain tells me to try to be good for myself.

it is hard to explain what it feels like.

oh wow this actually did turn into a demi biography, sorry about that and if you've read through all this - i congratulate you with your patience.

ps. i am Dutch from origine, my English is not stainless.

hi killthegirl.

you might be interested to know that the number of veg*ans with eating disorders, incurred or current is quite high. over 50%.

i inadvertantly pushed myself into anoerexia when i was 16, and got very weird about it for roughly 2 years.

i've often thought that it was the strangest time of my life.

time is the greatest healer. treat your body with respect. eating disorders can totally wreck ones body.

anyhow. you are in good company here , welcome. and maybe we will get to talk.

best.

I must say that it seems a big step from vegetarian to fruitarian to me.

You say you originate from Holland: are you living elsewhere now ?

i've only just learned of raw foodism relatively recently. i'll admit, its kind of hard to grasp how valid it really is, in my mind.

i like sprouting, i am interested in fasting, i would like to incorporate more raw fruits and vegetables into my diet, i am big into sustainable agriculture...etc, etc.

palindrome, i am sorry to read you have been involved in anorexia, if anyone knows how painful and horrid it is... (me, and most likely quite a group of other individuals here)

how are you dealing with it now? have you fully recovered? any downfalls?

1vegan, yes i am Dutch originally but was raised in France, Belgium & Holland. so that makes me a err colorful European?

i do try to improve my English by reading solely English literature, and in the process found out that when remained in it's original state literature is much more valueable - that of course also counts for French and German.

and, no i am currently residing in Holland.

Oatmeal, what else can i say than.. watch your back, i am coming for those cheap mango's

where it came from? one day i was thinking about a email name and this just came up, no deep grounded meanings behind this one. it does, however sound like a scene right out of a female unfriendly maffia movie doesn't it?

hello hello Flower

That Alpaca Guy, mutual.

on both accounts.

killthegirl: i am fully recovered of my own volition. i never got help for it back then, i just grew out of it, and it became very tiring to keep up. honestly i don't think any of my friends at the time knew what was going on. i sure didn't talk to them about it. not as if they could have provided much support. much of my problem...bad friends, and good friends who weren't cool enough for me...sigh. i lost so many good people that way. what sort of came out of it was that i just ate more normally, but was very concious of what i ate, and what was in the food i ate. with a tendency to binge...from not eating enough.

though i do still occasionally have eating problems. like a few months back i had started eating TONS. mostly as a way of dealing with stress after getting home from work, and getting quite depressed. i would get really sick to my stomach and get these obviously disturbing pains in odd parts of my body...from obviously overeating.

after i recognized what was going on, i just sat on it for a bit...then decided to do something about it. eat slower, more thoughtfully, and stop the grazing before, during and after meals. i tried this out for a few weeks, and things kind of normalized. talking about it some people helped as well.

i am done with the major downfalls. life now is only the good happy ride
