Hi everyone,

I am new here. I became a vegetarian when our oldest daughter was at the age when meat would have been introduced to her diet. I teach in the Detroit Public Schools and when I taught 2nd grade I had a student who was already menstrating and I didn't want my daughter to have to deal with all those hormones added to her food. I used to be a veg. but got anemic and started again. I ordered the dvd from PeTA and I couldn't even finish watching it. My dh did finish it, and hasn't eaten meat since!

We have skeptics that tell us our kids need to eat meat, but they are proof you don't! Our oldest is just about 2 and is in the 95th percentile for height, and our baby who is 4 months is off the charts!

I am looking forward to getting some great advice and recipes!

and...anemia being a veg issue = a myth. You can get plenty of veg iron/protein!
