Hey guys my names Rian and I'm 17
I just recently decided to make this change in my life as a means of trying something new but the more i think about it the more I believe in becoming commited.

Hopefully I can find some new recipes to use for lunches as Highschool lunch isn't much in the ways of nutrients.

Thanks all!

Hi, and welcome! I become vegetarian when I was in high school too! Bringing your own lunch is so much better than school lunch - healthier, tastes better, and you can bring what you like rather than being stuck with what they serve.

Do you have access to a microwave? I didn't, so I would bring hot foods in a thermos that was pre-heated with boiling water. But if you can use a microwave, that's a lot easier. Otherwise, there are still a lot of options for cold foods.

A few ideas for lunches:
Sandwiches - peanut butter and jelly, fake turkey (for example, lightlife smart deli or tofurkey slices) with spinach and mustard
Burritos - beans, salsa, veggies, avocado, cheese (dairy or vegan)
Boca burgers or faux chicken patties - note that these need to be cooked before eating, so if you're going to bring them cold, you should cook them in the microwave the night before, then chill in the fridge overnight
Hummus and pita chips or fresh veggies
Green salad with lots of good toppings like beans, nuts, etc.
Pasta or grain salads (tabouli is great and really filling)

Anyway, I hope that helps get you started! If you have more questions, don't be shy!

Hi and welcome to the forums! Maybe this site could help you: http://veganlunchbox.blogspot.com/
It is written by a mom who prepares lunch for her child but those recipes can be used by older people too.
