im not taking as much notice of what i eat, this isn't because of that, this is more just an overall knowledge thing.

sugar..that ive always avoided like the plague...is in fact, not half as bad as i thought. even the white kind.

its main evil is bloodsugar spikes but if the right sweet things are eaten (ie. things with fibre, low g.i., whatever else) and bloodsugar is controlled, sugar is no different to any other carb and has zero ill effect.

true??

(this would help a lot as i struggle to eat enough on protein, 'good carbs' , fibre and fat, alone.

oh wait..then there's immune system etc.

maybe its not as simple as i thought.

maybe im just looking for an instant way to rise calories easily etc. that doesn't do as much harm as fat (and fiber..ouch. won't do that again. damn those almonds..)

I do not eat sugar even with fiber and fat along with it my blood sugar spikes then falls.

I think sugar is a person by person type of deal, some people can have loads of it thier whole lives with no issues.

I would not say it is no differant than any other carb it is void of anything good really.

It is an empty food and there is some question to inhibiting the bodies ability to absorb calcium.

I would line up sugar in the same section as I would white enriched flour and trans fats.

you should limit your refined sugars and emphasize natural sugars (lactose, fructose). if you eat those in combination with a fat/protein, then your levels are optimal - however, it won't make or break you.
