Hi everyone,

My name is Ellen and I am new to raw foods. I j ust read PH Miracle for Weight loss and it made sense, so I started looking for raw food forums. I've done a little browsing and ordered Alissa Cohen's book to get me started.

I am looking at dehydrators, is Excalibur a good one? It has adjustable temp, which I understand is important.

I have about 90 pounds to lose and have been doing Atkins off and on for years, and I keep binging and re-gaining. Looking forward to something different, that will make me healthier.

Looking forward to meeting you and learning about this lifestyle.

I have the Excalibur and really like it. I have the one with 9 trays. I usually prepare stuff I want to dehydrate twice a week and leave it on all day while I am at work. That way I am not constantly cooking and have plenty of treats to choose from.

Another reason I like the Excalibur is becasue it is the rectangular model. A long time ago I used to have one of those circle ones. I hated it because I had a more difficult time peeling things off of it. If you want to make things like crepes, you don't want a circle shell with a big hole in the middle. Also, it fits better on the kitchen counter.

Also, if you want a site with a fairly active raw food community you can go to www.rawfoodtalk.com

Hi Ellen! I'm not a raw foodist, but I wanted to welcome you to VB anyway!
